Recognizing the unprecedented opportunity of personalized one-on-one conversations at scale with their customers, L’Oréal, the biggest beauty company in the world, partnered with Automat in April 2017 to launch an innovative messaging chatbot for Facebook Messenger called Beauty Gifter.

Beauty Gifter gets to know each user’s needs and preferences and makes personalized product recommendations from 11 different L’Oreal brands, integrating with L’Oréal’s e-commerce system for checkout. It also proactively follows-up with personalized, relevant content, pushed at the right time, to drive on-going engagement. The results to date have been amazing, in terms of customer insight collected, engagement rate, and customer satisfaction.

Commenting on the power of Conversational Marketing, Lubomira Rochet, Chief Digital Officer and member of L’Oréal’s executive committee said “I believe AI is as big a revolution as the internet itself.
